Financial & Business Reporting Overhaul
Afidence engaged a large Ohio education organization to streamline their financial and business reporting capabilities across several departments. The project involved an assessment of tools and processes which led to the identification of inefficiencies and gaps. Based on their findings, Afidence recommended and implemented new tools and processes which ultimately resulted in greatly improved communication while providing accurate, real time financial information to all departments.
Research Data Despair, Rescued by SharePoint 2010
Afidence deployed SharePoint 2010 for a client with over 25 years of un-centralized research data and intellectual property. Previously, the data existed in file shares, wikis, blogs and closed systems, making it difficult internally to collaborate and access important data. Essentially the client had 25 years of research history with no way of making it easily accessible or usable. Through SharePoint 2010, Afidence not only enabled the client to establish effective governance policies by optimally organizing their data, but because their local file shares were able to be indexed their data is searchable and usable. “Rock Star” is what the client deemed the Afidence consultant once the engagement was completed.
Training through Video
Afidence client is ‘Wow-ed’ with in-house video training created to showcase SharePoint 2010 capabilities. In response to the client’s request for what more could SP 2010 do for them; Afidence created and conducted 3 different training videos demonstrating SP 2010 key features applicable to their work environment. In addition to the original 3 training videos, Afidence also created short video clips of demonstrated features for future reference. To quote the client in regards to how they felt about the effort, “These are awesome, you missed your calling!”
An Afidence client team recently received an award from corporate leadership for cycle time improvements in enterprise-wide security patching. The Afidence Team was credited with providing significant contributions to the data analysis, factor identification and process efficiencies cited in the award and was attributed as a key factor in the success.
Health Care Billing Process Improvements
Afidence assisted a large, reputable, physical therapy group to enhance their billing department productivity. Using key tools such as Process WorkFlows, Accountability, and the Afidence Global Engagement Methodology (G.E.M.), the improvements resulted in $1m savings within one fiscal year.
Afidence transformed the IT architecture of a leading automotive parts manufacturer by standardizing and virtualizing their server and desktop environment. Afidence consultants leveraged VMware ESX, Citrix, and Microsoft’s App-V for application packaging. This project led to an 80% reduction in physical servers, and traditional desktops were replaced by inexpensive and efficient thin clients. As a result, the client saved money, improved support, and increased user satisfaction.
Business Process Automation
Afidence partnered with a large retail firm to transform their manual customer service processes into a single streamlined electronic workflow. By consolidating hundreds of electronic forms and documenting dozens of internal processes, a single K2 Blackpearl workflow was developed to integrate with the company’s SharePoint 2007 architecture. This project has empowered the retailer to identify and measure bottlenecks in their customer service processes.
Print Strategy & Cost Reduction
Afidence worked with a large community college to identify opportunities to lower the cost of print, copy, and fax services that will result in an annual savings of over $400,000. Afidence consultants leveraged opportunities in adopting formal governance and acquisition policies, implementing chargeback systems, and planning for device consolidation
