Prepare for Important Tasks Early
If you plan the night before what you need to accomplish throughout the day, you will get more things done from day to day and week to week. You will also have more time to do other things because you won’t waste time throughout the day just thinking about what you need to get done.
Write it out
If your memory is anything like mine, it’s anything but a steel trap. Writing out your important tasks the night before solidifies your goals and means you no longer need to remember everything that you need to do.
Structure Your Free Time
Though the idea of free time and doing nothing seems like a utopia to a busy body, how happy are you on Sunday at 12 with nothing to do? This is why I believe it is important to have hobbies and activities you are passionate about. For happier free time, schedule and fill your free time with specific hobbies.
Become More Aware of Your Time
A great activity for truly understanding your time is to track your daily activities on a 24 hour calendar for a day or two. This is the best way I’ve found to discover where you are wasting time and where you may be able to be more productive.
Plan for Sleep
This is a lesson I’ve had to learn the hard way. Consistently getting less than seven hours hurts concentration. This makes time less productive. On top of this, it can destroy attitude and inspiration, leaving us unhappy and less likely to confront new challenges and opportunities.
