Northern Kentucky – Cincinnati, Ohio – September 16, 2016—Afidence was named the winner of the 2016 Goering Center Family & Private Business Award for Family Businesses with 26-100 employees. This annual honor is bestowed upon only one company each year and exemplifies what family and private business is and can be.
Bryan and Barbara Hogan launched Afidence in 2010 with the intent of providing transparent, affordable consulting services. They founded the company on the premise that people want to work with organizations they can trust. Afidence has grown substantially in recent years and even made this year’s Inc. 5000 list for America’s fastest-growing companies. Afidence practices the SYNC methodology, which involves four major components: collaborate, empower, launch, and deliver. Afidence believes in the importance of empowering employees and exceeding client’s expectations. It is changing the way businesses view IT across the nation.
Barbara Hogan, Chief Culture Officer and Co-Owner at Afidence, said, “We are honored to receive this award from such a prestigious organization. We want to thank the Goering Center for their support and look forward to developing an even stronger relationship with them in the years to come.”
This annual recognition program, in its 17th year, honors Cincinnati regional businesses that exemplify the best in family and private business practices. This year, 570 businesses were nominated for these awards. Afidence was evaluated by an independent panel of judges who evaluated hiring and employment practices, specifically as to whether those practices have helped Afidence unify a multigenerational workforce.
After being named one of only 75 Semi-Finalists, Afidence was then selected as the best of the best for Family Businesses with 26-100 employees. Kingsgate Transportation and Neyer Properties were also honored as Finalists by the Goering Center in this category. In addition, the Drees Company was named to the Goering Center Hall of Fame and Pam Beigh, president and founder of SalesCORE, was titled the 2016 Keith Baldwin Volunteer Award Winner for her dedication and service to the Goering Center.
Afidence is one of an estimated 4,500 family and private businesses in the Cincinnati region; the Goering Center has 330 of these businesses as active members with a goal of 400 members by the end of 2018. Membership is not a prerequisite for the awards or for nomination, as nearly half of the semi-finalists are not current Goering Center members. The Goering Center released a list of the finalists and winners.
